And so it begins...again.

So, I was basically the WORST TRAVEL BLOGGER EVER. Well, not really. I was pretty good for a while there, and then school happened and love happened and drunken nights with my indigenous roommates happened. And then, after I got back, minor depression happened, and I couldn't think about Europe without getting emotional, let alone write about it. But I've decided to give this whole blogging thing a try again. I may not be in Europe, but I do sometimes go places and do things around here.

Brief updates: No longer in Europe, or college. No longer in love. No longer depressed (I think?). No longer drunk (most of the time...senior week was a major exception).

More detailed update on life: two weeks ago, I graduated from Elizabethtown College (cum laude, woo!) with a BA in English. I know, I know...what DO you do with a BA in English? I'm still figuring that out. Am currently waitressing, where a typical day includes 30 pots of coffee, bad seafood and borderline sexual harassment; and looking for a "real" job. So far, have applied for two library jobs and am contemplating a gig as an elementary school secretary. Ideally I would like a copy editing gig or a reporting job, but there is NOTHING AVAILABLE in a 50-mile radius. Ugh. Consequently, am also contemplating graduate school to put off my loans and give the economy some time to recover in order that I may find said job. If I do pursue a graduate degree, it will most likely be in the area of Spokane, Washington, where I'd have a home with my fabulous uncle.

In most recent news, Deirdre and Co are here visiting from Holland! They flew in Thursday and will be here for another week. The occasion? My graduation, as well as my sister's upcoming high school graduation, taking place this Friday, with graduation party the following day. They brought with them the usual gifts of truffles and jewelry. I now have some beautiful, silver drop earrings that will be a very nice going-out accessory, I think. I've also probably gained 5 pounds since graduation due to the constant and overwhelming supply of chocolate. Not that that seems to be an issue...I'm still getting harassed like crazy at the counter at work. Sometimes a gal just has to walk away.

Tomorrow, Dee and Co and headed to Gettysburg, and I'll be joining them since I have a day off (my first since Thursday!). Hopefully I can rekindle this travel blogging thing with a post about good ol' Gettysburg. We shall see.

And so, I sign off tonight amidst swirls of wishful thinking. In many regards.
