Where I've Been

Lands End, Cornwall. September 2008
21 states, six countries. So many more places to cover.

I started venturing away from home when I was young, with family trips to the seaside each summer; first on the beaches of New Jersey and Delaware, then to the beautiful Outer Banks of North Carolina and Hilton Head Island of South Carolina. I first ventured onto foreign turf with a trip to Niagara Falls, Canada, when I was 11 years old, but I still feel like that experience didn't really count. My first flight was from Philadelphia to Houston, when I was 13 years old. My first transatlantic flight followed a few months later, when my family flew to London and then on to Edinburgh, Scotland. And it was there that I experienced the first hard bite of the travel bug.

I did the most traveling during my semester abroad in Cheltenham, United Kingdom in the fall of 2008. In the three-month span of September-December, I visited Edinburgh, Scotland; Florence and Siena, Italy, as well as the Tuscan countryside; Amsterdam, Delft, Rotterdam, and the Hague, The Netherlands; and Galway, Ireland, in addition to locations all over the United Kingdom, from London to Land's End.

This is what my travel map currently looks like:

While I think I've been quite a few places for someone who's not yet a quarter-century old, obviously there is still quite a bit of ground to cover! I am hoping to soon break into either the southern or eastern hemispheres. Stay tuned to see where Aidan Boleyn goes next!
