Longwood Gardens

Formerly owned by the DuPont family, these gardens are made of acres of grounds and an impressive conservatory stuffed with foreign and native plants. Beautiful at any time of year. From Thanksgiving to New Year's Day, there is a display of hundreds of thousands of Christmas lights. Located in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania.

Winterthur Estate

Also a former DuPont family treasure, Winterthur is comprised of a mansion, museum and gardens, and is an incredible example of American architecture. The mansion is comprised of 175 rooms, and the acres of garden and farmland are cultivated to look natural; no invasive species here! Take a leisurely stroll through the meadows and knolls, or hop on the garden tram for a quick tour; Aidan's grandmother might be driving it! The fairy garden is a wonderland for children of any age. The mansion is open year-round and puts on a spectacular display for Christmas. Located outside of Wilmington, Delaware in the Greenville area, Winterthur was included in the book "1001 Places to See Before You Die" as the sole representative in Delaware!

Delaware Seashore Park
This is Aidan's favorite place to go for a beach day trip. Admission is a few dollars (more if you're from out of state) but you get access to restrooms and bathhouses. Concession stands are on site to provide grill items, fries, and ice cream. Beautiful Delaware beaches without the crowds that flock to the boardwalk areas. If you want the boardwalk, get showered and cleaned up, and head over there for dinner!
